Tips for a More Effective Dry Cleaning
Published on Saturday, 23 July 2011

Dry cleaning is process of cleaning the clothes without the use of water. The clothes are placed on a steel basket that rotates the clothes. The machine will then drop a tiny amount of cleaning solvent as this will be absorbed by the clothes. The solvent will remove the stains and soil contents of the garments. After that, the clothes will be whisked out of the machine where they will be filtered. A second circulation will be done to drain off the solvent. Dry cleaning is an effective process to preserve the softness and the color of the clothes.

Before going to the dry cleaner, make sure that the garment can be dry cleaned. Attend to the stains immediately and check the pockets for contents. Point the stains to the dry cleaner and tell him if the garment has special instructions for dry cleaning. At the shop, before the dry cleaning began, the garments will be attached with a small paper to prevent them from mixing up with the other garments. The dry cleaner will also check the garment for slits or broken parts. After this, the dry cleaner will treat the stains to ease the removal of them during the actual dry cleaning process. The clothes will then be subjected to the actual dry cleaning. The clothes will be inspected again for stubborn stains and if they still have these discolorations, they will be treated again. After the stains are removed, the clothes will be ironed and folded.
